Community Guidelines

📜 Purpose of These Guidelines

These guidelines exist to ensure PinRally remains a space where:

• Safety comes first: Users feel secure sharing and participating in local discussions
• Helpfulness matters: Information shared is accurate, relevant, and valuable to the community
• Respect is fundamental: Everyone is treated with dignity, regardless of background or beliefs
• Accuracy is valued: Users provide truthful information and clearly distinguish facts from opinions
• Real-world responsibility: Online behavior reflects the same courtesy and accountability we expect in person

⚠️ Key Safety Principles

🚫 Prohibited Content

The following types of content are strictly prohibited on PinRally and will result in immediate enforcement action:

Sexual Content

• Nudity or partially nude images
• Sexual content or sexually suggestive material
• Sexual solicitation or prostitution
• Content depicting or promoting sexual exploitation

Violence and Dangerous Content

• Graphic violence or gore
• Content depicting or promoting dangerous acts (e.g., self-harm, dangerous stunts)
• Content that glorifies or incites violence
• Threats of violence against any person or group

Harassment and Hate

• Harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any kind
• Hate speech targeting race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any protected characteristic
• Stalking behavior or unwanted repeated contact
• Doxxing or posting private information about others without consent
• Coordinated harassment campaigns

Privacy Violations

• Posting another person's private personal information (home address, phone number, email, financial information, etc.) without their explicit consent
• Sharing photos of others without their permission, especially minors
• Revealing someone's real identity when they use a pseudonym

Spam and Deceptive Content

• Repetitive, unsolicited promotional content
• Scams, phishing attempts, or fraudulent schemes
• Misleading or intentionally false information designed to deceive
• Clickbait or deceptive links
• Excessive commercial advertising unrelated to local community interests

Illegal Activity

• Content promoting, facilitating, or depicting illegal activities
• Sale of illegal goods or services
• Content that violates local, state, or federal laws

Intellectual Property Violations

• Uploading copyrighted content (photos, videos, text) without permission from the copyright holder
• Impersonating individuals, brands, or organizations
• Using trademarked material without authorization

📸 User-Generated Photos and Media

PinRally allows users to upload photos and media to enhance Rallies and conversations. However:

• No pre-moderation: Uploaded media is not reviewed before it appears in the app
• Inappropriate photos are prohibited: This includes nudity, violence, illegal activity, or any content that violates these guidelines
• Report immediately: If you see harmful, inappropriate, or violating media, please report it immediately using the in-app reporting feature
• Obtain consent: Only upload photos where you have the right to do so (you took the photo, or have permission from the photographer and anyone depicted)
• Respect children's privacy: Never post photos of minors without explicit parental consent
• Be mindful: Consider whether the photo could embarrass, harm, or compromise someone's safety or privacy

🛡️ Rally-Level Blocking Feature

PinRally provides Rally creators with moderation tools to maintain healthy conversations:

• What it does: Rally creators can block specific users from viewing or participating in their Rally
• Scope: This blocking is local to that specific Rally only—it is not a global block across the entire app
• Other Rallies: A blocked user can still create their own Rallies, participate in others' Rallies, and use the app normally outside of the Rally from which they were blocked
• When to use it: Use this feature if someone is being disruptive, violating these guidelines within your Rally, or making your Rally an unpleasant place for others
• No retaliation: Do not block users simply because you disagree with their opinions; reserve blocking for genuine guideline violations or disruptive behavior

📢 Reporting Harmful Content

Community reporting is essential to keeping PinRally safe. Here's how the process works:

How to Report

• Report specific messages: Long-press any message to report inappropriate content, images, or videos directly
• Report entire topics: Use the "Report Topic" button in chat info (ℹ️) to report patterns of abuse or systemic issues in a conversation
• Be specific: Clearly describe what rule was violated and provide context
• Report, don't engage: Do not publicly call out or argue with violators—use the reporting tools instead

What Happens After You Report

1. Report received: Your report is logged and queued for review
2. Review process: Reports are reviewed as quickly as possible based on severity
3. Action taken: Violating content may be removed, and appropriate account actions may be applied
4. Reporter notification: You may receive confirmation that action was taken (specific details are not always shared for privacy reasons)

Moderation Transparency

Your role matters: Because moderation depends on community reports, your vigilance and participation help keep PinRally safe for everyone.

🤖 AI-Powered Content Moderation

To help maintain a safe and respectful community, PinRally uses AI-powered moderation systems that automatically review content before it's posted:

What Gets Moderated

• Rally descriptions: When creating or editing rallies
• Profile information: Display names and bio text

Note: Chat messages are not pre-moderated by AI to ensure a smooth, real-time chat experience without lag. However, inappropriate chat content can still be reported by users and will be reviewed by our moderation team.

How It Works

• Automatic review: Rally descriptions and profile information are analyzed by AI before appearing in the app
• Instant feedback: If content violates guidelines, you'll receive immediate feedback explaining why it was rejected
• Safety categories: AI checks for spam, profanity, harassment, hate speech, sexual content, violence, and illegal activity
• No chat moderation: Chat messages are not pre-moderated to maintain real-time, lag-free conversations
• Supplemental system: AI moderation works alongside human review and community reporting—it does not replace them

AI Limitations

If Your Content Is Rejected

• Review the feedback: Check which guideline was violated
• Revise your content: Edit to remove problematic language or imagery
• False positive? If you believe your content was incorrectly rejected, you can contact support through the app's feedback feature

⚖️ Enforcement and Consequences

Violations of these Community Guidelines may result in the following actions, depending on severity and frequency:

• Content removal: Violating posts, comments, or media are removed
• Warning: First-time or minor violations may result in a warning
• Temporary account restrictions: Temporary suspension of posting, commenting, or other features
• Feature restrictions: Loss of ability to create Rallies, upload media, or participate in certain features
• Rally-level blocks: Rally creators may block you from their Rallies
• Account suspension: Temporary ban from using PinRally
• Permanent account deletion: Severe or repeated violations result in permanent removal from PinRally
• Legal action: Illegal activity may be reported to law enforcement authorities

All enforcement decisions are made at PinRally's sole discretion. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts for any reason, including behavior that does not explicitly violate these guidelines but undermines community safety or trust.

⏳ Limitations of Moderation

We want to be transparent about what we can and cannot do:

• AI pre-screening: Content is automatically reviewed by AI before posting, which catches many violations upfront
• Not foolproof: AI systems may miss some violations or occasionally block acceptable content
• No real-time monitoring: Beyond AI moderation, PinRally does not have staff monitoring all content in real-time
• User reports remain essential: Community reporting helps identify violations that AI may miss
• Some harmful content may appear: Despite AI screening, some violating content may be visible temporarily until reported and reviewed by humans
• Limited moderation capacity: Moderation capacity is limited compared to large platforms
• We are committed: Despite limitations, we are dedicated to reviewing every report and taking appropriate action as quickly as possible

✅ User Responsibilities

By using PinRally, you agree to:

• Post accurate and honest content: Share truthful, firsthand information and clearly distinguish facts from opinions
• Be respectful: Treat all users with courtesy, kindness, and respect
• Protect your privacy: Do not share sensitive personal information (home address, phone number, financial details, etc.)
• Respect others' privacy: Do not post private information about others or photos of people without their consent
• Use reporting tools responsibly: Report genuine violations, not content you simply disagree with
• Follow local laws: Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws
• Exercise good judgment: Think before you post—consider how your content might affect others
• Stay informed: Keep up with updates to these guidelines and our Terms of Service

👶 Children and Vulnerable Users

PinRally is committed to protecting children and vulnerable users:

• Age requirement: PinRally requires users to be at least 13 years old. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian consent.
• No content targeting children: Do not create content specifically designed to appeal to users below the minimum age requirements
• Protect minors' privacy: Never post photos, names, or identifying information about minors without explicit parental or guardian consent
• Report child safety concerns: Any content that endangers or exploits children must be reported immediately and will result in immediate account suspension and reporting to authorities
• Parental supervision: Parents and guardians should supervise minors' use of PinRally and educate them about online safety

📝 Updates to These Guidelines

These Community Guidelines may be updated from time to time to reflect:

• Changes in app features or functionality
• Evolving safety expectations and best practices
• User feedback and community needs
• Legal or regulatory requirements

Notification of changes: When significant updates are made, we will notify users through in-app notifications or announcements. Continued use of PinRally after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised guidelines.
